Douglas P. Casper, AIA, LEED AP, CCA, CCS, NCARB, MBA is President of DPC Associates and is Vice President of AIA Long Island , serving as Chairman of the Program Committee, the Committee on the Environment (C.O.T.E.), and has prime responsibility for the Product Fair Committee. He is, also, Secretary of the Design Professionals Coalition of Long Island (DPCLI) and head of that organization’s Program Committee as well. Mr. Casper is a past president of Metro New York Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and is a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS). He also has an MBA degree and is LEED Certified. He is a Green Consultant and produces specifications for commercial and public works projects. Mr. Casper is a nationally known speaker who has produced a number of day-long Seminar programs, including Green Construction – presented at the 1993 CSI New York Chapter Product Fair; Green Construction and Green Schools – done for AIA, Long Island, in 2002; and, more recently, his “Day of Green Seminars” & Sustainable Design Workshop series, presented throughout the Tri-State area. Cities that Mr. Casper has appeared in include Sacramento and San Jose, CA; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA, and Boston, MA. Mr. Casper can provide architectural firm training and has a number of programs available, including full-day programs, all good for AIA Learning Units. Mr. Casper has given presentations and written articles on various technical topics, including sustainable design, solar houses, contract law, MasterFormat,™ specifications writing, interior & exterior building materials, and accessible design. Mr. Casper received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1977 and his MBA from Dowling Institute in 1997. He has been licensed to practice architecture for over 23 years and a member of AIA for 22 years.
