Andrea Raggambi

As CES Manager at the AIA, Andrea Raggambi is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the CES Provider programs, including recruiting and training 2,300+ AIA/CES Providers and evaluating the quality of their education programs. She also manages the annual CES Marketplace in conjunction with Convention and other Provider-related events. In previous positions, Andrea managed operations for a nation-wide training program for nursing continuing education and was involved in Marketing and Public Relations for web/print design, direct mail and technology corporations. She graduated this May from Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia Center with a Masters degree in Adult Learning and Human Resources Development.

Katin Imes

Technical Manager, Systems Designer, Software Developer, Co-Author

Katin has been programming computers professionally for over 20 years with the last decade focused on Internet development, online courses and distance learning, online communities, social networking software, and Open Source development.

Even with programming as a mainstay, his career has always been based on bridging between technology and people. Katin offers training seminars and workshops in various aspects of digital technology, technical team building, communications, and telecommuting management.

Katin is the Director of Development at Digital Reef Services in Portland, Oregon. He is a hobby linguist and also enjoys community theater, juggling, and is a bona fide Tiki enthusiast.

Thom Lowther

For more that 30 years Thom Lowther has been involved with professional and organizational development. His experience includes working in the public sector, the private sector, and higher education. Thom is currently the Continuing Education Systems (CES) Senior Director at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in Washington, D.C. He oversees quality of the continuing professional education program for 2300+ AIA/CES Registered Providers and the professional records of AIA members. He also serves as the Institute’s liaison on mandatory continuing education (MCE) related issues with state licensing boards and international professional associations.

Since arriving at the AIA in 1995 he has presented or facilitated programs at more than 250 national and international events. Thom is on the faculty for the AIA/CES Firm Leadership Summit and the AIA/ACEC A/E Leadership Retreat. Thom teaches courses such as Situational Leadership: A change in behavior; From Instructor to Facilitator; Use of Case Studies; and A/E Firms: Adjusting to the Shifts. Thom consults with numerous A/E/C firms and design organizations about establishing and enhancing their internal professional development programs. In 2002, Thom established EPIConnection.org (Education, Practice, Industry Connection), an online service that matches the needs and resources of each professional sector. Thom currently serves on the Board of the Learning Education Resources Network (LERN), a leading international continuing education association; he is a Public Board Governor of the AIC Contractor Certification Commission, and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council Professional Development Committee.
